We are Michigan State's Information Technology Department, more commonly known as MSU IT. Here are some things you need to know about the technology tools and services that MSU IT offers. You can also watch this video to get a download of everything that is important.  GETTING STARTED AT MSUMSU NetID - your NetID is an electronic identity at MSU and serves as your login to many university applications and systems.How to get online - connecting to the MSU network, Internet & Wi-Fi.MSU Laptop Requirement - what you need and visit the MSU Tech Store for all of your technology needs.New Student Information - provides you with basic information to get you started with technology at MSU, including computer lab locations, common tools you’ll use to collaborate or support your coursework, how to print on campus, and more. TECH HELP & SUPPORTMSU IT is always here for support.Phone 517-432-6200 or toll free at (844) 678-6200 - call us from 7 a.m. to midnight any day the University is open.Chat go.msu.edu/itchat - Chat with an IT Service Desk analyst any day the University is open from 7 a.m. to midnight.Email ithelp@msu.edu COLLABORATIVE TOOLSMicrosoft Office 365 - use your MSUNetID and password to log in to get access to the entire Microsoft Office 365 suite of collaborative tools and applications including Outlook email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and OneDrive which gives you 5TB of cloud-based file storage. Microsoft Teams - part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite, this tool allows you communicate with anyone at MSU, is great for group projects and student organizations.D2L (mobile app “Brightspace Pulse”) - common tool instructors use for managing course content.Zoom - common video conferencing tool.Google Apps - MSU Google Apps are integrated with your MSU NetID and password.Qualtrics - common tool for creating and sending surveys related to coursework.MediaSpace - video platform used by instructors to create, store, manage and share content.  MSU TECH STORE- The on-campus resource for all of your technology needs.- Apple Authorized and Dell partner campus store offering a variety of official Spartan technology.- Located at the Computer Center, 450 Auditorium Rd in Room 100.- Exclusive student discounts and Back-to-School promotions.- Order online and schedule a pick-up. COMPUTER LABS & CLASSROOMSMSU computer labs offer computers with a wide range of specialty software that is available for your use.
