Our mission is to provide opportunities for students to make industry and peer connections that will last throughout their careers as packaging professionals, and give them the tools they need to succeed in landing their first interview, internship, or full time position.We offer memberships to all undergraduate and graduate students. You do not have to be in the School of Packaging to be a member! MSUPS holds biweekly company sponsored meetings in the Packaging Building on Tuesdays at 6:15pm. In addition to this, we also hold social events throughout the semester.Each biweekly meeting is hosted by a new company within the packaging industry that will provide insight into what it is like to work as a packaging professional at their company, and introduce scenarios or problems that students might encounter on their internships or in their full time positions, preparing students before stepping into that role. This is a great way for students to see all of the different types of industries packaging professionals work, including food and beverage, medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, personal care, and more. Students will receive hands on networking and professional development experiences. Additionally, dinner is provided at every company sponsored meeting!MSUPS members also gain exclusive access to meet with company recruiters right before career fair at our Ignite event every semester! Members that attend Ignite will get to hear from a variety of companies that will attend career fair about their internship and co-op opportunities, and will get to pitch themselves to recruiters BEFORE career fair!
