Welcome to the Spartan Sierra Club!If you are passionate about climate justice and want to make a difference, join our club!Who We AreThe Spartan Sierra Club is a student-run chapter of the national Sierra Club, working to engage our MSU community in current environmental issues. The SSC aims to explore, enjoy and protect our planet through grassroots organization, nature outings, and environmental education. What We DoSSC works directly with the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter, as well as on-campus student groups and local environmental organizations. Together, we organize excursions into nature, stewardship opportunities, educational workshops, and environmental campaigns + lobby events. General meetings will occur twice a month (every other week) starting August 30, 2023.Some of our event ideas include: cleanup competitions, environmental news discussions,lobbying events, educational seminars, speaker events, scavenger hunts, documentary watch parties, outdoor events, and more!Why YOU Should JoinWith a growing membership of dedicated, knowledgeable and passionate individuals, SSC has become an impactful resource on campus for environmentalists to share their ideas and create lifelong friendships.
