International & Multicultural
The purpose of Successful Black Women of MSU is to become a primary resource for Black women at Michigan State University. We seek to promote empowerment, networking skills, and social relations skills amongst our members and the larger multicultural community of Michigan State. We have a particular interest in incoming students, including freshman and transfers, who are seeking to build a strong foundation and network at MSU, but we are welcoming and open to member of all years and backgrounds. We hold monthly events of various kinds, typically focusing on professional development, community engagement, health and wellbeing, and social engagement with other MSU RSOs. We often hold collaborative events with other organizations within and outside the immediate MSU community.While we are heavy on the professional side, we also host many social gatherings for the larger MSU community and special members only events that have a more laid back feel. In the past we are known for our bake sales, pillowtalks, and "Battle of the Orgs" events. Our organization is a well-rounded entity heavily devoted to professional and personal development.
