This organization will run the Daniella and Charlie Sunshine Garden and create opportunities for MSU students to serve Lansing neighborhoods. Working in an underserved community in Lansing will break the campus bubble and create a bridge between MSU and the Lansing community. This organization will serve to address food insecurity and gardening as a social and communal experience to decrease loneliness and strengthen community ties. To accomplish this, we will work with other organizations on campus that are working on the re-distribution of food to decrease food waste, increase food security, and improve Lansing’s food systems.
