MSU Swara was created as a Registered Student Organization (RSO) in 2016, with the intention of creating a community of Indian Classical Dancers, Musicians, and Vocalists at Michigan State University. In addition to creating community, MSU Swara seeks to promote the Indian Classical Fine Arts among the Michigan State University campus by hosting events with various organizations such as the Coalition of Indian Undergraduate Students (CIUS), as well as with various community events such as the MSU Museum's Taste of India Event.
