Career Development & Networking
The mission of Surgery Interest Group is to educate medical students about a career in the field of general surgery and its various sub-specialties: in terms of the requirements for residency and fellowships, as well as research choices within this career. We also aim to galvanize interest among students to pursue various surgical specialties through clinical and research experiences. We complete this mission through a variety of activities: -Lunch talks with surgery faculty members from various subspecialties -Mixer events with surgery faculty, residents, and students -Suturing workshop with cadavers -Trauma surgery shadowing opportunities at RRUMC
