BlackBox hopes to be Boston University's new Black film society. BlackBox invites Black and P.O.C filmmakers to pitch stories that might be scarier to share with those that don't have the experience of being in the minority. This safe space will not only provide a home away from home to those that might be struggling to find their community in BU's massive student population, but facilitate networking opportunities, which is essential for a career field like film and television production. We'd like to offer workshops to improve one's craft (such as screenwriting or sound design workshops), as well as offer career resources like inviting alumni and professionals to speak.
