The Chabad Jewish Student Organization provides opportunities, both individual and collective, for the Boston University Student Community to experience the unique approach it has to Jewish living, knowledge, and practice. Chabad presents Judaism, invigorated with the depth and vitality of Chassidic thought, philosophy, and Jewish Mysticism. One of its major goals is to provide culturally enriching social events and an atmosphere to celebrate Jewish holidays, engage in discussion, and immerse in learning - available to the entire BU community, regardless of affiliation, background, or beliefs. The Chabad House of Greater Boston, serves as a common meeting ground for the Chabad JSO, as part of the world-wide network of Chabad-Lubavitch that is dedicated to furthering the understanding and observance of Jewish traditions to all, regardless of their background, in the spirit of the teaching and example of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson. Through Shabbat and holiday programs, classes, and events - the Chabad House serves as home for the JSO and any other students interested in learning more.
