Mabuhay! Welcome to BUFSA!BUFSA is an organization which advocates and celebrates the richness of the Filipino heritage! Through community involvement and education, BUFSA aims to expand our club's core values to the rest of BU students, faculty, staff, and alumni: diversity, inclusivity, acceptance, embracing and sharing Filipino culture. BUFSA is home for all students from all walks of life, and are always welcoming more members to join our family!A few weekly and annual events we have include:Fam Din: at 6PM/7PM on various days and in various locations TBA in the weekly newsletter.Dance Practice for Upcoming Shows (Traditional and Modern): Learn dances from Tinikling to hip hop and everything in between. Everyone's invited, no experience needed! Practices are on weekends, time and location TBA.Halo-Halloween: Members dress up in costume and watch our annual Halloween video, meet new people and participate in our costume contest! We incorporate our love for food by making halo-halo, a Philippine dessert of shaved ice and a variety of different toppings (jellies, fruits etc) and enjoy a night of fun and friends!ISA: The World Is One: A cherished tradition, ISA is our annual and BU's longest running multicultural show that aims to show the BU community and Greater Boston Area the beauty that comes with diversity, and the amazing talents different cultures and communities of BU has to offer.Speaker Series: our annual speaker series is where we invite different Filipinos paving the way in their fields to speak of their experience and share insight and encouragement that they may have for our students.BUFSA always strives to showcase the Filipino culture and the values rooted in it, like community, resilience, and love. We hope to share these with you, and see you soon!
