SoulAAn, the Generational Black American Student Organization(GBA) at Boston University, is committed to advancing the cultural enrichment, academic excellence, and social empowerment of GBA students on campus. We aim to empower by providing resources and a supportive environment for GBA students to succeed academically and cultivate leadership skills. We celebrate our culture through hosting engaging events, workshops, and cultural celebrations that educate and enlighten the campus community about the richness of Black history and heritage. We seek to get involved both on campus and within the wider community while addressing pertinent issues impacting GBA students on campus and in admissions. In addition, we aim to work collaboratively with other student organizations in the Diaspora, faculty, and staff. In alignment with these principles, SoulAAn is dedicated to creating a space where generational Black American students can flourish, connect, and make a meaningful impact both on campus and beyond. While we are a “minority within a minority” on campus, this term doesn’t define us—it is through our intellect, cultural prowess, and rich history that we form a longstanding community of generational Black Americans on campus.
