Sports
The Cal Equestrian Team is a fledgling sport club at UC Berkeley. Founded in 2010, and led by an enthusiastic group of officers, we focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and building a close-knit community. Every member takes joy in coming together and sharing their passion for horses with each other.

The team competes in the IHSA English – Hunt Seat Equitation Division, Zone 8, Region 1, going head to head against schools, such as Stanford University, UC Davis, and Cal Poly SLO. Members are of all levels and experience, making horseback riding an accessible experience for all the students at UC Berkeley. Team members ride at least once a week with top equestrian show-jumping trainer, Hilary Johnson, at Iron Horse Equestrian Center in Pleasanton, CA.

The Cal Equestrian Team is committed to creating a safe, fun, and competitive environment for students at UC Berkeley who share a love of horses. With first-class trainers and top of the line facilities, the program strives to enable riders of all backgrounds to develop their horse knowledge while gaining confidence and leadership skills. Founded upon teamwork, horsemanship, and sportsmanship, the team works to provide a rewarding experience and lifelong friendships for all of its members.
