MissionWe create this space to help navigate the Central American erasure in the Latino community at Stanford. It is important to recognize the diversity within the Central American diaspora. CASA is a space for CentAm's of all races, ethnicities, LGBTQ+ identity, religion, abilities, and/or immigration status. As we create this space we want to stress our commitment to Black/Indigenous folks within CentAm diaspora– who are too often at the forefront of the trauma in our community. This will be a continuous conversation at CASA as well as unpacking mestizaje and whiteness in LatAm/CentAm.
