MissionThe primary activities of the SGMOO are the Directed Reading Program (DRP) and Stanford Women in Math Mentoring program (SWIMM). In the DRP, graduate students ("mentors") are matched with interested undergraduate students ("mentees") to read a mathematical text over the course of a quarter. SWIMM is a mentoring program that aims to reduce the gender gap in mathematics, in which undergraduates interested in math and computational science are paired with graduate student mentors from math, statistics, and ICME.
