MissionThe mission of the Lao Student Union (LLSU) is to organize, rally, and celebrate the existence of the Lao students on campus. When people talk about Southeast Asia, Laos is often forgotten about and left behind; even amongst Southeast Asians ourselves it feels. This organization is to spotlight the incredible culture and heritage our people have, build a community and space for our voice, and to be fully recognized amongst our underrepresented peers. Above all this will be a space of community build and support for students who have been historically underrepresented on Stanford's campus.However, we also strive to be open to all people on campus, especially other underrepresented groups who may be struggling to find a voice and a community of their own. This includes populations such as Thai and ethnic minority Laotian communities (such as the Khmu, Lu Mien, Katang, Isan peoples, and all others who resonate with Laotian identity).
