Global Medical Training (GMT) is an organization that is focused entirely on our motto, "LEARN BY DOING." It gives students a unique chance to participate in more "hands-on" diagnoses and treatments of patients in Latin America under the supervision and training of medical professionals. Students will not only have time to learn more about health-related professions in the near future but also become more socially aware and culturally competent. UC Berkeley students will be given a chance to expand their understanding of medicine as well as health-related hardships of living in third-world countries while increasing awareness of the lack of healthcare in such countries by providing care and information for the betterment of the nation. GMT services are also not limited to our national partners but are provided to our community. We will offer our students the opportunity to volunteer in multiple service events focused on serving the underprivileged community of Berkeley and beyond.
