MissionStanford Raagapella is an all-gender South Asian focus a cappella group. Stanford Raagapella's goal is to unite members and audiences and to encourage the appreciation of music from South Asia and other cultures by capturing the essences and energy of music in performance and recording.Raagapella is a safe space for all of its members. The group is intentional about cultivating a culture of respect and love toward its own members, members of the Stanford community, and beyond. Raagapella shall ensure that the group is warm and inclusive, such that members feel they have a family of supportive teammates.Raagapella shall ensure that each member develops as a singer and musician, and the group shall provide a space that promotes growth. The group will also support and actively participate within Stanford's South Asian community by interacting with groups including but not limited to Stanford South Asian Society, Stanford India Association, and the Asian American Activities Center. The group will actively participate in the Stanford A Cappella Council in order to coordinate a cappella auditions, O-Show, and other collaborative musical activities. Raagapella will also remain active within the Stanford community as a whole, participating in and holding performances and events open to the entire Stanford community. Finally, Raagapella will engage with a far-reaching audience beyond Stanford by competing at national South Asian collegiate a cappella competitions and releasing music on global digital platforms.
