American Medical Women's Association Undergraduate Division at UCI
Community Service & Volunteering
Mission This organization was formed to help overcome the specific challenges faced by women pursuing a career in medicine although membership is open to any pre-medical students. The group allows a safe, non-competitive forum for pre-health students to network and discuss issues such as professional school prerequisites, education, and family challenges.
The mission statement of the American Medical Women's Association undergraduate Division is to empower, educate, and support pre-medical and pre-health students to advance within medicine.
We will achieve this by promoting service projects that benefit the community, while instilling leadership and awareness, fostering valuable alliances with current medical students and practicing female physicians, encouraging and advocating for aspiring other undergraduate students, offering opportunities to gain insight about women's issues that help aid and commit them to improving women's health, and offering forums that provide the knowledge, insight, and perspective that will further aid women through their progression in the medical profession.
