Mission
Hack at UCI is an organization that reclaims the word hack back to its original meaning, to solve a problem creatively and effectively. Hack at UCI aims to cultivate a community of technical students at the University of California, Irvine. While other clubs may focus on expressive or computational parts of technology, Hack at UCI aims to enhance the practical and professional skills for students that may benefit (e.g. majors from the School of ICS, School of Engineering, and much more). Hack at UCI hosts two Hackathons, ZotHacks, and IrvineHacks, similar to those hosted at other UCs, that encourage students to build amazing technical projects. With a plethora of open source tools, community resources and events, and technical workshops, there is ample opportunity for anyone to bring their technical and professional goals to reality.
