Mission
This club focuses on incorporating empathy in the health field and understanding the necessity of empathy for a doctor with his/her patients. Discussions of medical literature will take place every other week and visits to UCI medical school classes will occur once in awhile. When club members visit medical student classes they have opportunity to share their experience and discuss how empathy was/can be used during the club meetings. HtH also works with community members to implement meaningful, creative, and service-oriented projects.
Membership Benefits
Volunteering opportunities, ability to attend medical humanities classes at the UCI School of Medicine with 4th year medical students, writing and editorial positions within the medical humanities publication (The Scribe), discussions and debates, guest speakers, and ability to work closely with the UCI medical school and on-campus faculty.
