Mission
Planned Parenthood Generation Action at the University of California, Irvine (hereinafter referred to as PPGA at UCI) exists to educate the university community about reproductive health and rights, to translate increased awareness into pro-choice activism on campus, and to serve as a coalition partner to state, national, and international reproductive rights efforts.
PPGA at UCI believes in the fundamental right of every individual to manage their fertility. PPGA at UCI supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary health care services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy and rights of each individual; advocates for public policies that guarantee these rights and ensure access to such services; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of human sexuality.
PPGA at UCI extends its activism not only to reproductive rights but to reproductive justice, as defined by Sister Song as the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.
PPGA at UCI intends to destigmatize sex, sexuality, and reproductive health by increasing health literacy and awareness to the campus community about available services, resources, and general education.
