Mission
Students who enroll for doctoral study in the Department of Psychological Science will be welcomed into a community of scholars deeply invested in using the tools derived from psychological science to shed light on real-world problems and their solutions. In our department, we have some of the world's leading researchers studying a diverse array of issues, including the role of false memories in eye witness testimony, child maltreatment and its impact on development, socioeconomic disparities and their impact on social behavior, social anhedonia as a risk factor for psychosis, and emotional experience in older adults. This highly collaborative department is an ideal place for students interested in integrative, cutting-edge science to develop into independent thinkers. Training places a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice and our doctoral students bring with them a wealth of knowledge from their diverse educational and personal backgrounds.
