MOVE Asian American Community Organizing Fellowship
Social Justice
The MOVE Asian American Community Organizing Fellowship aims to bridge the on-campus and off-campus Asian American (AA) community and develop the next generation of AA community organizers. MOVE facilitates the political consciousness and critical thinking of student fellows through social justice-based experiential learning by placing UC Berkeley students at local community organizations. Through our praxis-based approach to community organizing, we aim to bridge the on-campus and off-campus Asian American community, facilitate critical consciousness among the next generation of community organizers, and shift political conditions both on- and off-campus.

MOVE was established in 2017 by Asian American undergraduates inspired by the Third World Liberation Front, the UC Berkeley Public Service Center, and Seeding Change's National Fellowship Program for Asian American Organizing and Civic Engagement. Since its founding, MOVE has served 50 student fellows and partnered with 16 CBOs, and it is currently housed within the Asian American Political Activation program (AAPA) under Asian Pacific American Student Development (APASD).
