Mission
Descent is the University of Southern California’s premier APISA (Asian Pacific Islander and South Asian) literary and arts publication. We elevate APISA voices through our semesterly magazine and co-develop a platform to showcase the diversity of artwork, stories and talents of APISA creators at USC.
Our team is primarily comprised of visual designers, creative writers, writing editors, multimedia creators, and digital marketers. All experience levels are welcome to apply!
Membership Benefits
1. All members will gain a comprehensive understanding of producing and publishing a magazine in both print and digital forms. By the end of each semester, members will have 1-2 new portfolio pieces to showcase.
2. We also train new members in their respective teams. By the end of the semester, you will understand how to use industry-standard software, such as Adobe Creative Cloud. Descent is a judgment-free zone and we welcome creatives of all experience levels.
3. In addition to our primary goal (publishing a magazine), Descent plans regular outings and events around Los Angeles for its members to grow closer to each other.
