The Georgia Tech Amateur Radio Club, W4AQL, is dedicated to providing fun for all students to learn about radio communications and allowing ECE students to make practical use of content they learn in the classroom. Whether it's your phone's wireless chips, the GPS signals tracking your location down to inches, or the radio towers on Van Leer: all of it is based in radio technology! W4AQL participates in contests about once a semester and holds Open Shack nights (with pizza provided) to talk about and show off other topics in the realm of wireless. The club maintains an FM repeater at 145.15 MHz, various HF antennas connected to two stations in our dedicated club room, and we hold monthly test sessions (information here: https://w4aql.gtorg.gatech.edu/test.php) along with the meetings and Open Shacks above. Our primary means of communication is through Discord: https://w4aql.gtorg.gatech.edu/discord
