Yet, the very elements that fueled your journey – your unique cultural background and international perspective – become unexpected hurdles as you navigate the complex landscape of career search. This is the stark reality for countless international students at Georgia Tech, who face: • Language barriers: Nuances of communication and workplace expectations pose challenges, hindering effective interaction and self-expression. • Cultural differences: Adapting to unfamiliar work environments and social dynamics can be overwhelming, creating feelings of isolation and uncertainty. • Limited professional networks: Lack of established connections and insider knowledge makes securing opportunities significantly harder. • Immigration complexities: Intricate visa processes and H1-B sponsorship concerns add stress and anxiety to the career search journey. While existing resources offer support, they often fall short, leaving international students feeling lost and unsure of how to bridge the gap between their potential and career dreams. According to a non-biased survey executed by the team, it was noticed that 9 out of every 10 international students doing their grad studies at Georgia Tech either found it challenging to secure an employment or build professional network for an assured offer through the existing resources provided by Georgia Tech. This is where ASEI – the American Society of Engineers of International Origin– steps in, offering not just a lifeline, but a vibrant, inclusive community where international students can thrive and seek help for professional guidance.
