We exist to increase the number of Black and Latinx Computer Science graduates that go on to launch rewarding technical careers. We'll work to stay committed to this in the following 5 ways: 1. Addressing Historical Disparities: This organization's mission recognizes the long-standing disparities in educational and career opportunities for Black and Latinx individuals in the field of computer science. These disparities are often rooted in historical and systemic factors, including unequal access to resources, educational opportunities, and mentorship. 2. Creating Inclusive Learning Environments: In addition to addressing the academic needs of Black and Latinx students, this organization fosters inclusive learning environments. It works to create spaces where these students can engage in collaborative and innovative learning. 3. Mentorship and Role Models: Recognizing the importance of representation, this organization connects Black and Latinx students with mentors and role models who have succeeded in technical careers. These mentors provide guidance, encouragement, and real-world insights, inspiring and guiding students as they navigate their academic and professional journeys. 4. Career Development and Industry Exposure: Preparing students for rewarding technical careers extends beyond the classroom. This organization facilitates internships, networking opportunities, and exposure to various sectors of the technology industry, thus helping students gain practical experience and explore different career pathways. 5. Navigating Challenges: This organization understands the unique challenges that Black and Latinx students may face, both academically and culturally. We'll provide support systems and resources to help students overcome obstacles, build resilience, and stay committed to their educational and career goals.
