Kappa Alpha Theta was founded in 1870 as the first Greek-letter fraternity for women. We value our history and our long tradition of leading the way for women's groups and women in higher education. The core of our organization is the spirit of sisterhood: belonging, support and encouragement, accountability, and common purpose. We seek to create spaces in which we can respect and accept individual differences and find strength in inclusion.
