Students Organizing for Sustainability
Social Justice
We bring sustainability-oriented people together to inspire positive change in our community by hosting various events, such as guest speakers panels and Green Meetings, and allowing students to lead change through their own projects. We also run and maintain the Georgia Tech Community Garden.
For the current SOS structure, please see our bylaws. If you wish to become a member, please fill out our Membership Form and get added to our Slack Workspace!
Members can get involved in the following ways:

Participate in some of our regularly scheduled events:

We host Community Garden Workdays every other weekend for students to plant, harvest, and learn how to use gardening tools
We host monthly community events for students to volunteer in local neighborhood cleanups and forest restorations
We host monthly social events for students to meet other members and create a sense of community among SOSers
We host monthly guest speaker panels for students to learn more about a sustainability topic

Engage in discussions and leadership opportunities with some of the events below:

We host bimonthly general meetings which generally include current events discussions by members, project team updates, occasional guest speakers, and general updates
Members may propose their own projects which tackle a specific sustainability concern at Georgia Tech or in the Atlanta community with the support of our organization

Please fill out the Project Proposal Form if you’re interested (don’t worry if you don’t yet have a team, we can connect you with other interested members!)

All organization events and meetings can be found in the GT-SOS Calendar
