Austin Swipe Out Hunger is an organization that seeks to teach students more about the realities of food insecurity on college campuses -- and how prevalent of an issue it is on our campus. We seek to partner with local Austin nonprofits to provide volunteering opportunities to our members, and our goal is to implement a 'Swipe Drives' program at UT Austin in which Dine-In Dollars can be donated to students who are facing food insecurity on our campus. We have been in contact with UT nutritionists, the UT Outpost, and UT Student Government and have garnered their support for our program, and once this program is established, our organization would host events in which students are made aware of this program and are given a way to donate their Dine-In Dollars. Austin Swipe Out Hunger will also host socials and events for our members so that they can build connections amongst other members who also share a dedication and passion for service in our community!
