Environmental Justice and Eco-Therapy Student Organization
Academic
Started by social work students at UT Austin, the Environmental Justice and Eco-Therapy Student Organization seeks to expand education and awareness, and to promote engagement and action around ecotherapy practices and environmental justice issues within the field of social work, our school, and our broader communities. The organization hosts speakers on the topics, facilitates workshops, attends community events, and gathers together. The events invite creative ways of exploring deep connection with nature (the environment, Earth, our inner and outer landscapes, elements, animals, human and beyond human). This might include experiential practices, local farms visits, embodied movement, and connecting with community voices. The intention is to bring together an interdisciplinary, multicultural group.
