Getting Radical in the South (GRITS) is intended to foster an environment on the University of Texas campus, specifically within Texas Law, that explores and promotes radical advocacy in the South. Each year we host a multi-day conference that brings together members of the entire University of Texas community, students throughout the South, and professionals working in advocacy spaces. Our conference consists of various speakers and workshops that are aimed at helping students around the country learn about various social justice issues affecting the South, while also equipping them with the tools and skills that will help them to become more impactful advocates.
