GRA’s Mission:
The Governmental Relations Agency (GRA) raises student awareness and involvement in government at the city, state and federal level, to interact with governmental entities and policy groups. We also work in conjunction with the Student Government executive and legislative branches to relay the official voice of the student body as expressed in official Student Government policies, positions, and stances to government entities.
GRA facilitates invaluable nonpartisan connections, conversations, and understanding between Longhorns and their government. Students in GRA are divided into Local, State, and Federal committees in which they work with their peers in the completion of a project to cultivate Longhorn civic engagement. Beyond this, GRA hosts panels, town halls, and workshops, providing platforms for students to engage directly with policymakers, experts, and community leaders on pressing political issues. GRA seeks to spark conversation, highlight political accessibility, and activate the UT student body into active, engaged citizens. Whether you are passionate about local issues or national policies, GRA provides a platform to make a meaningful impact and ensure that student voices are heard at every level of government.
