The International Affairs Society (IAS) is a professional and social organization at the University of Texas at Austin whose mission is to cater to students interested in international relations, global affairs, public service, and cultural interaction. We foster both professional and social relationships between students, academic faculty, and professionals from various fields. Whatever each member’s unique reason for joining the organization, the International Affairs Society provides opportunities to fit each member's interest. Whether hosting a current events discussion, career development workshop, distinguished speaker, or community service, IAS creates a society where students can thrive and become global citizens. Every meeting includes a guest speaker with a different internationally themed topic, ranging from study programs and internships abroad to presentations by international, non-governmental organizations and former intelligence community officials. IAS also hosts several events throughout the year, including the International Affairs Roundtable and memorable socials.
