STEM Ed. at Berkeley is a nonprofit student organization dedicated to empowering and inspiring students interested in the STEM fields and those interested in broadening their academic and career horizons in the increasingly isolated and competitive environment the pandemic has brought. The organization hopes to address this gap by providing an array of STEM-related resources for all grade levels.

For college students, we provide the following:

Resource Bank: the resource bank will be available on our website and consists of study guides, note sheets, and more created by students for the STEM classes they have taken in college. We cater to all STEM majors, so all STEM-related resources are welcome! As a general member, to gain and maintain active membership, a donation of 3 resource documents is required per semester.
Speaker Events: We contact and facilitate an array of speakers, both professors, and professionals, to speak on their area of expertise and engage with students in a Q&A fashion. Professional development speakers will help facilitate workshops regarding resume building, requirement tips, and advice they have to offer pertaining to the array of STEM careers.
External Opportunities: This can be split into two aspects.
We offer listings of local and remote volunteering, research, and internship opportunities; we are aware of how many students lost their opportunities due to the pandemic and may have difficulties looking for new ones. We hope to provide listings on our websites for individuals to visit and apply.
We partner with local low-income high schools and middle schools to be able to help their students bridge the gap between different school districts and their resources for STEM education. By providing mentorship, tutoring, and hosting college panels, we allow our students to share their experiences and knowledge with younger ages at these schools.
Student Blogs: We believe every student should have a voice. Our website offers students the ability to submit an article of writing on the topic of choice--sometimes, we also provide prompt ideas for submission. We encourage students to write a piece on STEM topics and current research and events so that they can be published on our website!
