Longhorn Riichi is an organization centered around the competitive tabletop game Riichi (Japanese Mahjong). Riichi offers a dynamic blend of psychological and statistical strategies. Its fusion of skill and chance contributes to its global appeal, serving as the focal point in various media like anime and games.
Longhorn Riichi hosts regular Riichi-focused events, including game sessions, strategy discussions, and tournaments. Our mission extends beyond hosting events -- we aim to promote and popularize Riichi in the West and connect our members with the broader Riichi community, including introducing our members to statewide leagues and tournaments.
Membership requires no fee or prior experience; we are happy to teach you at our meetups! Members can elect to support the club with a paid membership and receive perks like a choice of club T-shirt, eligibility for leaderboard prizes, etc.
