We seek to improve the quality of life for all people through research and education on basic and enduring human experiences across time, place and life circumstances. We are particularly interested in: the foods we eat, the relationships we nurture and the textiles that protect and clothe us. The world we live in is complex. We draw on the disciplines of science, history, business, art and health to advance our understanding. We motivate our students to be leaders in their communities; we prepare our students to improve the quality of life for all people. The School of Human Ecology is science based and human focused.
