Community Service & Volunteering
SciCo USA, Science Communication, is an organization modeled after a European non-profit whose aim is to communicate scientific issues to the public via innovative and entertaining means. The organization consists of scientists, students, educators, artists and people with an interest in everyday science. SciCo USA aims to deliver hands-on STEM education to students and promote the development and use of scientific methods at an early age. This project is founded on the belief that all students have creative abilities that can be developed further to transform students from knowledge consumers to knowledge creators.
SciCo USA seeks qualified University students who are dedicated to inspiring young students to take an active interest in Science Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to become program mentors. Mentors will be paired with a group of 3-4 students, who will pick any scientific subject of their interest. All of the students will receive guidance from the program’s mentors, a team of young scientists distinguished in science communication, and the best presentations will win prizes!
