The University of Texas at Austin Student Government (UTSG/SG) is the official association for the expression of student opinion. It is our privilege to support responsible student participation in university policy and decision-making processes in order to enhance the quality and scope of the student experience. We are responsible for the transparent and effective use of student fees to promote student welfare, and for providing leadership development opportunities for UT students.
 
The Executive Branch:
The Executive Branch is comprised of the Executive Board and staff, policy directors, and agencies. Together, this branch works together to carry out the Executive Alliance platform and execute programming related to their advocacy areas of interest to serve the student body. What is an Agency?Agencies support advocacy work in a variety of interest areas that affect the lives of students outside the classroom. They organize events, collaborations with internal and external organizations, and campaigns that promote progress and support student needs. Our Agencies include: Community Engagement and Advocacy Agency (CEA), Disabilities Inclusion Agency (DIA), First-Year Leadership Organization (FLO), Food Security Agency (FSA), Governmental Relations Agency (GRA), Hook The Vote (HTV), International, Out of State, and Transfer Student Agency (IOTSA), Longhorn EMS (LEMS), Longhorn Legislative Aides (LLA), Mental Health Agency (MHA), Women's Resource Agency (WRA).

The Legislative Branch:
The Legislative Branch consists of a legislative body known as the Assembly. The Assembly is made up of elected student representatives from each college within the university that pass legislation to represent the official voice of the student body and define official Student Government policies, positions, and stances in matters directly affecting students per the UTSG Constitution and governing documents. The Judicial Branch:
The Judicial Branch is charged with interpreting the Student Government Constitution, the Student Government Code of Rules and Procedures, and substantive rules, controlling authorities, regulations, or bylaws passed by the Student Government Assembly. This branch fulfills the vital role of ensuring that Student Government complies with these governing documents. Learn more about the judicial branch here.
