Welcome to Founders Hall, NYU’s newest residence hall and home to over 700 first-year students, located in the Union Square/East Village area of NYC! Built on the site of the former St. Ann’s church, the historic façade and fence have been preserved as part of the front courtyard. To help facilitate the community, enhance your academic experience, plan events, and provide support, there are 25 Resident Assistants, one Resource Center Assistant, three student affairs professionals (Ashley, Paula, and Jerry), and one Faculty-Fellow in Residence (Crystal Parikh) who lives in the building along with her family. In addition, Founders has a Writing Affiliate that helps first year students learn and understand how to succeed in writing their first college level papers while at NYU. With 26 floors, Founders features a large outdoor courtyard, a community garden, two TV lounges, one study lounge with computers, wi-fi access throughout the lobby and lounges, recycling/trash rooms on every floor, a laundry room, as well as energy and sustainability focused features. Throughout the year there will be many chances to get involved, especially with the Founders Advisory Board (FAB), our very own hall government, where you can run for an elected position or serve on the general council.
