Ink & Image is the Art History Department's student-run, student-published academic journal, for original research in the field of visual arts. We are currently accepting submissions for our 2019 publication! Submissions can be a term paper or the product of an independent research project, so long as it is an original idea based on research. In addition, thesis writers are eligible to submit an abridged version of the final thesis or a portion of it. Papers should be 10-20 pages long. We will be accepting essays on a rolling basis, so please submit your work as soon as possible. The final deadline for all paper submissions will be at the beginning of the spring semester. (If your paper is currently in progress or if you plan to submit a term paper from this fall’s semester, please send us an abstract or rough draft at your earliest convenience.) Selected papers will undergo a series of edits with the student co-editors and Professor Krinsky, and their work will be published in the journal in May. The completed publication will then be sent to libraries across the world, which in the past have included: the Getty Research Institute Library, the Library of Congress, the New York Public Library, the Technical University of Dresden, the British Library, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France. This is a rare opportunity to get your original research workshopped, published and circulated. Having a published article as an undergraduate student will give you a competitive advantage when applying for higher education and jobs in the art industry. We highly encourage you to take advantage of this resource!
