Kesher means connection. It is on these grounds that we form our organization, whose central mission is to bring Jewish students together through ritual practice, communal programming, and social action. Kesher’s door is open for all students to come as they are. We are a space in which members and non-members alike are invited to shape their Jewish identity, pursue social justice through Jewish values, observe the Jewish calendar, and live Torah. We are a space for exploration, education, and critical discourse. We believe in adaptation and in recognizing that it is not only possible but in fact more holy to preserve our traditions while ensuring that they are inclusive and never prohibitive, exclusionary, or demeaning towards any person. Statement of Inclusion Kesher welcomes the full participation and protection of all who seek community. In accordance with our values, we do not discriminate or permit discrimination or harassment against any person or group of persons on the grounds of race, religion, color, sex, age, disability status, ethnicity, ancestry, national origin, socio-economic status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital status, familial status, pregnancy, veteran status, citizenship and/or genetic information. Furthermore, we welcome the full participation of Jews of all backgrounds including those from multi-faith and interfaith families, LGBTQ families, families with single parents, and those who are Jews by choice. We are proud of the diversity in our community.
