NYU NSSLHA is an academically based student-run organization designed to meet the needs and interests of students studying communicative sciences and disorders. In addition to addressing academic concerns, the group performs community service and organizes social events for its members.Traditional events include the Walk4Hearing and the Winter Banquet. NSSLHA also runs a mentorship program to connect incoming students and upperclassmen. This Chapter strives to: encourage professional interest among college and university students in the study of human communication sciences and disorders, provide continuity to the dissemination of professional information, and to provide a vehicle for student representation in matters of professional concern.
