The Phi Alpha Honor Society is a national honor society for social work students. Established in 1962, the purpose of the Phi Alpha Honor Society is to promote humanitarian goals and ideals while providing social work students with an opportunity to develop leadership skills and form closer bonds.
The Phi Alpha Honor Society invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work practice. The Pi Pi Chapter holds a variety of meetings and community service events throughout the academic year that serve to foster the professional development of its members while encouraging high standards of academic achievement and civic engagement. Programming includes monthly chapter meetings, group-oriented community service activities, and professional development events designed to encourage leadership in social work practice.
