Welcome to the NY Eta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at New York University! ABOUT Pi Beta Phi (ΠΒΦ), founded at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois in 1867, has 135 active chapters and more than 330 alumnae groups in the United States and Canada. Pi Beta Phi has worked to support and empower our sisters since 1867. In the century and a half since, more than 300,000 women have proudly worn our golden arrow. Through a lifelong membership experience rooted in timeless values, we promote friendship, cultivate leadership potential and enrich lives through community service—ensuring each member has the support of sincere friends and the inspiration to achieve their goals. HISTORY The NY Eta chapter of Pi Beta Phi was founded on January 31st, 2009. It is one of seven sororities that belong to the NYU Panhellenic Council. In the 14 years since installation, our chapter has grown even more in membership and diversity. Our sisterhood in Pi Beta Phi is formed by a diverse group of individuals who share common values and engage in meaningful ritual. Throughout the year, we actively demonstrate our dedication to sincere friendship, servant leadership, scholarship, and philanthropic service through various sisterhood and philanthropic activities and events. As a collective of determined, clever, and caring people, we skillfully manage the demanding academics at New York University while embracing the exciting and enjoyable experiences that New York City presents. Pi Phi serves as an indispensable source of support and a tight-knit community, laying the groundwork for its members' future achievements.
