The POCUS Club will have a dual mission of teaching all interested students hands-on POCUS skills and preparing teams of interested students to compete in local/national POCUS competitions (such as ZonoSlam and SonoSlam). POCUS is a useful bedside diagnostic modality across multiple organ systems and clinical scenarios, including checking for free fluid in trauma patients (eFAST exam), checking for deep venous thromboses, and evaluating for volume status. It is also a useful tool in procedures, including ultrasound guided IV and nerve blocks. Through teaching and hands-on practice with workshops, we will improve students' POCUS skills. Through coaching and mock POCUS competitions, we will prepare students to compete in teams at local/national competitions.
