About Us: Rhythmic Impulse at NYU (NYURI) is a student organization committed to promoting Korean arts and culture through teaching and performing Korean percussion music. The club centers on a modern genre of Korean music called Samulnori, which is an ensemble of four percussion instruments designed for stage performance, characterized by rapid tempo. The music features a variety of rhythms originating from the central and southern regions of Korea. Membership: NYURI welcomes all members of NYU; beginners are especially encouraged to join!
