Located at a swanky address on 5th Avenue, Rubin is a bustling community comprised of approximately 680 first-year students. Rubin is part of the FYRE (First Year Residential Experience) and is served by 13 Resident Assistants (RA), a Resource Center Assistant (RCA), a Faculty-Fellow in Residence, Michael Dinwiddie and a Writing Affiliate, Mike Tyrell. The staff provides a plethora of programming, so you will find plenty to do in Rubin at NYU and in NYC! Rubin is home to the following Explorations communities: Human Rights and International Relations, Spanish, French, and Fashion as well as a Choices (substance-free) community. We have several great amenities for residents to take advantage of including a large air conditioned second floor lounge, a black box theatre, a study lounge, a dance room, a piano room, a ping pong room, and a billiards room. Rubin also has a water bottle filling station on the second floor which provides filtered and cool water that helps keep our residents hydrated. At Rubin, we have a tradition of having the most spirited hall government, which we affectionately refer to as SUG@R (Student Undergraduate Government At Rubin). We encourage everyone to get involved in the Rubin community, whether that means running for President of SUG@R, being a floor representative, or attending our fun programs.
