The mission of Senior Smiles at NYU Dentistry is to cultivate the passion, knowledge, and expertiseneeded to work with geriatric patients. Given the aging population, future dentists must understand how tobest serve elderly patients, considering their complex medical histories, differing care priorities, and needfor compassion and understanding. We aim to foster a community where students can learn about geriatriccare by engaging with experts and participating in outreach events with the greater NYU Dentistrycommunity. Our goal is to spread awareness about the specialized needs of the geriatric population and toprepare dentists to provide knowledgeable and compassionate care.
